The focus is on two product lines covering different requirements in practice: DUOZINK cycle centers for high cycle rates and FLYBACK HVP28 as a compact, flexible solution for changing orders and medium-sized production environments.
DUOZINK cycle centers: High throughput, clear process structure
DUOZINK cycle centers are designed for manufacturers of glulam, solid structural timber, or cross-laminated timber who require high performance with consistently precise quality. The systems are configured for production capacities of approx. 900 to 2,250 running meters/hour and split the process steps of milling, glue application, and pressing into separate stations.
Depending on the model, widths from 60 to 320 mm and thicknesses from 20 to 180 mm can be processed – a range that covers most common cross-sections in modern wood processing. The DUOZINK also impresses with its compact design, optional horizontal and vertical finger joints, and the possibility of using 1C and 2C glue types.
With 12 to 18 joints per minute and pressing forces of up to 300 kN, DUOZINK aims for high productivity even for structural applications and visible quality.
FLYBACK HVP 28: Compact, adaptable, economical
The HOWIAL Flyback HVP 28 is a proven compact finger jointing machine that combines precision, efficiency, and durability. The system is configured to customer specifications and is suitable for a variety of products – from window frames to glulam lamellas to structural timber (KVH) bars – including a choice between horizontal or vertical finger profiles and 1C/2C glue application systems.
Technically, the HVP 28 also processes boards with a thickness of 20–180 mm and a width of 60–320 mm, achieving 500–1,400 running meters/hour with up to 7–8 joints per minute. The hydraulic pressing force of 150–400 kN, two precise milling units, and integrated gluing technology (e.g., PU, MUF, PVAC) support consistently high joint quality. Glue can be applied on one or both sides without contact or using a comb system, thus leading to a full range of options.
The perfect puzzle piece
The management teams of both companies are highly satisfied with their first year of collaboration. Robert Falch, Managing Director of MINDA, sums up: "With Howial, we have found the perfect piece of the puzzle for our portfolio. In addition to conveyor technology and presses, we can now offer our customers finger jointing technology from a single source, thus expanding our expertise in the field of complete systems." Michael Hofmann, Managing Director of Howial, also sees decisive advantages for the market in this partnership: "With MINDA's development and service power behind us, we are raising our proven finger jointing technology to the next level."
